PET Spunbonded Production Line

The non-woven textile industry has grown at a rapid rate during the last decades and is expected to continue expanding. In the meltblowing process, a polymer, such as polyester, polyamide, or polyethylene is heated to above its melting point and mixed with other polymers such as a plasticizer or filler, to form a homogeneous mixture. This mixture is then fed into an extruder, which produces a continuous web of strands or filaments. The strands are then drawn off the extruder through a spinneret and are bonded to each other by hot air.

From the spinneret, the strands are passed into an air chamber where they are cooled, compressed and stretched to form a thin sheet of nascent fibers. These strands are then bonded together by heat or other means to form the desired fabric. The process can be used to produce a wide range of fabric types, from simple staple or needle-punched fabrics to complex and high-performance, high-density, multi-component fiber fabrics.

To produce a high-quality, long-lasting and stable fabric, the process needs to be performed under controlled conditions. A good quality production line must be designed to ensure a smooth flow of the material through the extruder, heat/pressure chamber, spinning assembly and drafting tube. If any of these elements are not working properly, the final product will be prone to defects, such as dripping and stiff filaments.
