Jan 01,2025PP Nonwoven Fabric, or polypropylene nonwoven fabric, is a new type of nonwoven material made from polypropylene particles through processes such as melting, spinning, laying and hot pressing. It is not only light, soft, moisture-proof and corrosion-resistant, but also widely used in medical, sanitation, environmental protection, packaging, agriculture, industry and other fields because of its environmentally friendly and recyclable characteristics.
PP nonwoven fabric has many properties with its unique fiber structure. It is moisture-proof and breathable, flexible and lightweight, non-combustible and easy to decompose. Its non-toxic and non-irritating characteristics make it particularly suitable for products that come into direct contact with the human body, such as medical surgical gowns, masks, sanitary napkins and baby diapers. In addition, PP nonwoven fabrics are rich in colors, low in price and recyclable, which make them highly competitive in the market.
The production process of PP nonwoven fabrics includes the synthesis, melting, extrusion, calendering, stretching, cooling, curling and cutting of polypropylene. The synthesis of polypropylene is mainly through the propylene after petroleum cracking as raw material, and the polymerization reaction is carried out at a certain temperature and pressure to generate polypropylene particles. The melting process heats the polypropylene particles to above the melting point, making it viscous and fluid, which is convenient for subsequent processing. The extrusion process extrude the molten polypropylene through a screw extruder to form fibers or non-woven fabrics. The calendering and stretching process further plasticizes, flattens and improves its mechanical properties. After cooling and shaping, it is curled and cut to finally obtain a product of a certain specification.
The application field of PP non-woven fabrics is extremely wide. In the medical and health field, it is used for surgical gowns, masks, hats and women's hygiene products. In agriculture, PP non-woven fabrics are used as harvest cloth, greenhouse cloth, crop protection cloth, etc., which play an important role in increasing crop yields and protecting the ecological environment. In industry, PP non-woven fabrics are used as floppy disk linings, filter materials, sound insulation felts, cable cloths, etc., showing their diverse functionality. The packaging industry uses a large number of PP non-woven fabrics as composite cement bags, luggage linings and packaging base linings. In addition, PP non-woven fabrics are also widely used in household clothing, civil engineering construction, automotive industry and other special fields, such as heat-resistant materials for launch vehicles and space shuttles.
The development and application of anti-aging PP non-woven fabrics have further broadened its market application prospects. By adding anti-aging masterbatch in the production process of non-woven fabrics, the weather resistance and service life of non-woven fabrics can be effectively improved. This type of non-woven fabric has shown performance in the fields of agricultural covering materials, geotechnical construction, automotive interiors and outdoor sports goods.
